Recap til Now

When I started this blog, I thought this was something that I could get to every day. But a series of events has had me a little delayed and my mid-New Years resolution is to try to get on here once a week.

Well a lot has happened since my last posting.Stephen had major back surgery in March from the head on collision in October. We know that the injuries could have been far worse believe it or not, we are grateful for the doctors and nurses that took care of him, we spent 10 days in the hospital and Stephen endured 2 surgeries with in 7 days. He has healed very quickly, but not quick enough according to him. God is Good. He is back at work. His employer has been very understanding and he is constantly making sure he does not push Stephen too far. But if any of you know Stephen he is not one to complain, he is a trooper. He does have some nerve damage in his left leg, that too is slowly coming back. We expect a full recovery. It could possibly take up to 2 years before we know if there is any permanent damage.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers while we were in the hospital. Thank you so much for all the food, movies, games, and company you brought up there. Thanks to the guys from work that came up and visited Stephen when I couldn't be there, for coming by and seeing him when he got home. It was a hard time for him to be alone but, the company of Family and Friends is what heals you. We are so grateful for all of you.

Boston turned 4 May 12th! Yes I have a 4 year old. We had his birthday party last weekend and it was a blast. We scaled back drastically this year, mainly because when I scheduled the party I didn't know how much Stephen would be up for. But, when you have a big family it is never a simple gathering. He had all 7 of his cousins and his 2 second-cousins were there. They had so much fun!

Boston has become very busy this year. We enrolled him in gymnastics this January (all the men snicker here) but it has been so good for him. You can tell a huge difference in his balance and coordination. He is playing t-ball again this year, his team is the Sun Devils and they have pretty cool gear. It is still about learning the basics, but ask Boston and it is "Keep my elbow up and hit the ball" He doesn't like to play defense very much, but I think that all kiddos this age would rather just hit the ball.

Of course I have photos of all the listed above. The too will come shortly.
