Sun Burned but Good Times

Boston got a soft pool for his birthday. For those of you who do not know what that is, basically a larger inflatable pool with a pump. It's a pretty cool concept, except you still have to buy all of the chemicals to keep the water balanced.
Anyways, after a day of Blastball, which Boston is enjoying very much this year, and two attempts at setting the pool up, we finally got to swim on Sunday. Of course the water was freezing but that did not stop my enthusiastic little fish. I am really hoping this will last through at least two summers, maybe more. I am also excited for Stephen to get in and work on his physical therapy on his foot.
Well, back to the title of the post, I started to set up the pool before the game on Saturday morning, a simple task it seemed. It came with an instructional DVD but I didn't watch because I thought how hard can it be. So I rolled out the pool, not paying attention to the slope in the backyard, smoothed out the bottom as much as I could and put the water hose on full blast. Not wanting to be too brave, I cut the hose off before we left, but put it back on as soon as we got home. Then about 6,000 gallons later I realized something was wrong, it was filling up but only to one side. And then I realized it just wasn't working out. So I had to dump all the water out by myself (Stephen physically can't bend to help) and start over. This wouldn't have been such a big deal except Boston already had his swim trunks on and with Daddy's help was lathered up and ready to go! I re situated the pool after draining all the water out which took almost an hour and then started over. Luckily, our neighbors have a very nice in ground pool that we were able to hop in to make up for my blunder. Boston was blessed with my fair skin and I could only hope that the three applications of sunscreen did some good, but he still got red. He hasn't complained about it hurting, I'm sure that will come when I tell him he can't go out today until he is not red anymore.
(Step 1 on the DVD Be sure to place the pool in completely flat area. Failure to do so can end up in pool collapse.) Good to know.
